Remembering passed love ones continued...

If you look close, you can see that the lights on this tree spell out Aly. ALY - always love you. Aly, my beautiful cousin who is gone too soon. Her mother, my auntie, had a wonderful idea this year. A way to honor Aly and others who have passed on. She knows of a company who specializes in making ornaments with pictures of a loved one inside. She asked if I'd like to send Chris and Brayden's photos to be set into an ornament to hang on this tree next year. I can't wait to see next year's tree honoring our loved ones! Shari gave me permission to share part of her story here.

"Oh, no. Another Christmas message on Facebook.
Here goes….
A month or so ago, I had an idea.  I did not believe it would come to fruition this year because honestly this Christmas season without our Aly has been devastating and crushing.  Thanks to 2 wonderful friends who encouraged me to share “the idea.”

The ALY Project
As most of you are aware, we lost our beautiful, kind, grace-filled daughter, in a car accident, January 14, 2020.  The idea came clearly into my mind as I looked at Aly’s name.  ALY.  Aly is spelled quite different.  It is unique.  It is short for Alyssa and yet she has always been Aly to us.  The acronym for ALY stands for Always Love You.  I realized how much pain and grief I was experiencing because I simply loved so deeply.  Then I thought of all the other humans who have lost “their person.”  Grief is part of all humanity.  So, the ALY PROJECT came to life.  I am sure there is someone you are missing this Christmas season and always.  The Project will include an ALY tree to decorate with the name or names of people YOU miss and love. Hopefully in the future there will be more ALY trees around with the names of our “loved ones” who do matter.  They always matter!!!

If you live in the St. George area, you are welcome to drop by an ornament in memory of “your person” or a loved one you are missing.  (If you do drop it buy and hang it on the tree, message me and let me know the name of the person you are honoring). This year’s tree will be in our front yard.  For those who live far away, you are welcome to send an ornament, a note or simply a name on a card.  Message me and I will send you our address.  I will try to display each of the names on the ALY (Always Love You) tree.
Thanks to [my friend] for creating the ALY lights on the tree.

Next year, hopefully, we will have a company make ornaments with pictures and names of the people you are missing and grieving.   You will be able to order those quickly online.  And we will most definitely begin The Aly Project earlier in the season next year.

Lastly, thanks for reading.  We will try our best to keep the tree alive until the 14th of January.  We will then take down the tree and save the ornaments.  So, if you are busy right now just trying to keep your head above water with the holidays, you can still send one after Christmas or even after the New Year.

Much love to you all.  God bless you all.  We feel for all those who are grieving.  Love to our sweet Aly.  Our hearts are broken.  We miss you always.  Always and forever.  #foreveraly"
